Each of the essays published on, some new, some written over 30 years ago, is a creative act offering possible interpretations and ways of approaching Flora Scales’s life-long career in art. Each is, in itself, a generous gift to the reader and an act of bravery on the part of the writer.

We acknowledge and thank the collection of voices, our past, present and future writers, who have willingly made public their deeply felt personal opinions, responses and insights to inform and inspire those attending to the artwork and life of Flora Scales.
