Rural building with steeply pitched red roof set among trees. Crooked tree trunk to right of the building. Horizontal band of broken blue white brush strokes runs between side framing edges, slightly descending to left. Blurry shapes of foliage mid-centre and possibly flowers at right of this mass.

Titled according to information probably supplied by the artist for her exhibition at the home of Mrs Joan Williams in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, 1974.
This may be a scene painted near Bry-sur-Marne where Boris and Christiane Kalachnikoff built a house after their marriage in 1953, or possibly Ste-Geneviève-des-Bois where Kalachnikoff’s parents had a country house.

She often drew and painted animals, especially our dogs and cats, and was very happy painting the plum trees in full bloom in our garden at Bry-Sur-Marne. Boris would often walk with her into the countryside to paint the farmland and houses in earlier days. We would sometimes go together to his parents' country house in Genevieve St Bois, to Provence where my parents lived, or to Bleymard in the Lozère District where my family has a holiday house.
