In an introductory panel to the exhibition it is described as, “Another facet…of the Suter’s collection, this exhibition riffs of Richard Stratton's “Living History” ceramics with a selection of art works showing the influence of Post-Impressionism, Cubism and other ‘isms’ of the early Modernism…New Zealand artists exploring new ways to approach depicting the landscape and treating their subjects as arrangements of colour, line and pattern are also included.”
