‘Among the Pictures’, Star (Christchurch), 7 April 1916, pg 8, “Flora Scales shows a pleasant little colournote (it is hardly more) in "Milking Time." "A Sunny Day" represents a donkey, head on to the audience, with the exaggerated perspective hitherto peculiar to the amateur photographer. ''Tired" is a more satisfactory treatment of the same donkey.”
