“An interesting exhibition of paintings by some of New Zealand's leading women painters is to be opened on Monday next. The artists represented include Miss D. K. Richmond, Miss M. O. Stoddart, Miss Flora Scales, Miss Esther Barker, Miss Beatrice Wood, Miss Betty Rhind, and others. The pictures are to be exhibited at Mr Murray Fuller's public gallery in Vickers House (formerly Banks College), corner Woodward-street and The Terrace. All interested in New Zealand art are invited to see the recent work of these well-known painters. The subjects include landscapes, figure subjects, flower studies, and animal sketches, and from an art point of view the pictures are said to possess exceptional merit. The exhibition will be open daily from 9 a.m. till 5.30 p.m., and admission is free.” - ‘N.Z. Women Painters’, Evening Post, 30 July 1921, pg 6
